Every practitioner in the field of monitoring and Evaluation is being called t demonstrate upon results and this one is through accountability and learning.

An effective state is essential to achieving sustainable economic development. With the advent of globalization, there are growing pressures on governments and organizations around the world to be more responsive to the demands of internal and external stakeholders for good governance, accountability and transparency, greater development effectiveness, and delivery of tangible results. Governments, parliaments, citizens, private sector, NGOs, Civil society, international Organizations and donors amongst other stakeholders are interested in better performance. As demands for greater accountability and real results have increased, there is an attendant need for enhanced results-based monitoring and evaluation of policies, programs and projects.

Course Objectives

Explain the different Monitoring and Evaluation conceptual approaches and frameworks.
• Develop knowledge and critical thinking skills to be able to design and evaluate workplace programs.

• Build your expertise, confidence and credibility to positively impact your workplace program.

• Design country/site-specific monitoring flow process based on organizational structure (e.g., single country office, field office, or regional office).

• Design and implement a monitoring and evaluation work plan for a country/site program, taking into consideration donor requirements.

• Design systems to manage and use data and provide feedback to appropriate staff.

• Identify methods for overcoming barriers to effective monitoring and evaluation.

Course Assignments

Participants will be required to submit 10 assignments, research paper and one final examination for the period of 12 months to demonstrate their understanding of the course content. Assignments account for 60%, research paper accounts for 30% while Examination accounts for 10% of the marks.

Merits

Upon successful completion of the course, the participant will receive a Post Graduate Certificate of Merit and a transcript.
